The Historical School was founded in 1980 as the Institute for Advanced Study in Munich, supports outstanding researchers with a proven track record in research and education in all fields of historical studies in Germany and abroad, it free for research purposes. Schedules College which are made on the basis of competition enabled that offer scientists the opportunity to work on a major ("opus magnum") focus their university duties. The selection criteria to focus on the promotion of personalities from the research.Since 1988, the Historical School also provided scholarships for post graduate students in time for their work to enable and encourage a close professional contacts established researchers from the entire spectrum of the discipline in the atmosphere of the College of inspiration. The Foundation has provided funds for the Historical School, the award of two "Junior Gerda Henkel Fellowship for outstanding young researchers.
